The images in fragments were made in the woods behind my home by placing photosensitive paper inside trees, under rocks, leaves and rain. After being exposed, I scanned each 8x10 paper, and placed the unfixed prints in a wooden box I made. Every time the box is opened, the original image disappears a little more.
These images evade the conventional photographic representation of landscape, and “the assumptions around nature and culture that they have traditionally served” (1). The limits of representation get tested, through a collaboration between organisms, photographic materials, and technology.
