ca s’abuela begins with my grandmother’s house in Inca, Mallorca — a home that had remained vacant for more than a decade. Dust becomes an archive of time’s passage, offering a portal into a personal family history while also reflecting the broader socioeconomic history of the island.

The photobook combines together images I made inside the house between 2016 and 2021, rephotographed projections of those images, and photographs from my father’s archive taken in the 1960s in the same house and its surroundings. Time unfolds nonlinearly, with memories and layers of visual information overlapping and repeating, constructing a fragmented reality.
